Summary of work
In order to meet requirements for federal funding, and to better understand the current and future needs of Hwy 73 from Cromwell to Kettle River, MnDOT completed a corridor study to take a deeper look into how the roadway functions today in order to plan for its future.
During the study, MnDOT:
- Performed a safety analysis along the corridor.
- Engaged local partners, organizations and community members to gather feedback on existing roadway issues and develop potential corridor alternatives and cost estimates that address the issues and concerns identified by community members and the traffic analysis.
- Identified environmental impacts for each alternative.
- Identified potential improvement projects that match the needs of the corridor with available funding.
